There is nothing stronger than a mother’s love for her child and in this new book, young children are lovingly reassured that they are safe and loved in the arms of their mother.

Each and every day, Mama tells her baby that:

“There is nothing stronger than my love,
not the waves in the ocean,
not the rains from above.”

But Baby is worried because while words are wonderful, he wants proof of Mama’s love. So Mama bottles up her love and puts it in a jar. Then mother and child go to the beach where Mama throws the bottled love far into the ocean. The jar of love travels far and wide, meeting pirates and witches and all sorts of scary things that might frighten Baby. And every time that bottle of love meets up with someone, or something, it fends them off and continues on its journey.

“The pirates jumped at Mama’s love
Swinging swords high and low;
But Mama’s love was too fast
And the pirates, too slow.”

The Strongest Love is a sweet book about a mother’s love and devotion to her child. There is a happy ending, with Baby knowing that his mother is there to love and protect him. The drawings are lovely, done in soft hues to add a soothing tone. This book will likely be asked for each time your own baby wants to know how much mommy loves him/her.

Quill says: This is the perfect bedtime story for youngsters to listen to as they cuddle with their mothers.
